Instrument responsible persons:

Prof. Bo Albinsson, balb@chalmers.se
For the simple fluorimeter, Eclipse; if you have used a fluorimeter before, or have a supervising experienced colleague, you are welcome to apply for Eclipse in LIMS. If you need help with how to use the software, you are welcome to ask Alma for help. Please write in your application who is mentoring you and/or if you are experienced with fluorescence spectroscopy.
To have your application approved rephrase these rules in a sentence or two in your application or in an e-mail to the PhD student/post doc responsible:
- Never touch the instrument nor the instrument computer when it’s booked – someone might be running sterile or sensitive experiments!
- Assure there is information on LIMS or the physical logbook that you’ve used the instrument
- Contact the responsible about any issues with the instrument, on the same day
- Turn off Eclipse when you are done
Save your data temporary on the computer and download via your USB stick. Information on planned removal of all data will appear at least one week ahead in LIMS. We recommend you tell the software to save your data on prompt, as ASCII files (csv).
When your application is approved in LIMS, you will find the password for the computer on the LIMS page. If you want to maintain your right to use the instrument, do not share this password with unlicenced users. The password will occasionally be updated on LIMS.
