General information:
The preparative, recycling HPLC is used to purify small molecules and polymers. You are welcome to use the instrument for chemical compounds that are fully soluble in the eluent (see summary of solvent). Chemical compounds with very polar function groups (carboxylic acids, alcohols, amines) are currently not allowed on the machine. The machine has capability to be operated automatically using the autoinjector port to separate larger quantities of materials but users require special training.
The recycling, preparative HPLC is equipped with three columns where two columns for small molecules:
SM column (are connected in series for improved purification):
Loading = max 300 mg
Flow rate: 10 mL/min
Molecular Weight of chemical compounds: 200 DA -3000 DA
Polymer column: Size Exclusion Chromatography (only accessible via collaboration with the Giovannitti group)
Loading = max 250 mg
Flow rate: 40 mL/min
Molecular Weight (Polymers): 10-100 kDa
